Goals and their relationships
You can relate goals to different project objects:
Goals: In the context menu for a goal, you can find the command Derive Requirements or Derive Use Cases. When you choose this command, a small dialog opens in which you specify where the new use case or requirement is to be stored. The editing dialog then opens, where you can describe the use case or requirement.
Goals and requirements: If you have created requirements and goals in parallel, you can relate them to each other. In the context menu of a goal you will find the command Assign Requirements. If you click on this command, a selection dialog opens in which you can specify one or more requirements.
Goals and Use Cases: If you have created use cases and goals in parallel, you can relate them to each other. In the context menu of a goal you will find the command Assign Use Cases. If you click on this command, a selection dialog opens in which you can specify one or more use cases.
Relationships between goals and requirements, for example, are created automatically when you connect both elements in a diagram using a relationship. The following elements can be related to a goal:
- Requirements via a derivation relationship (goal diagram) or via drag & drop in the Products window
- Other goals via conflict, AND and OR relationship (goal diagram)
- Stakeholders about an interest-relationship (goal diagram)
- Use cases via dialog (use case dialog on the Goal tab) or via drag & drop in the Products window
