Dialog “Edit Interact Relationship”

Connects the system context with an actor and expresses that an actor is integrated with a system. The relationship arrow can be annotated to indicate e.g. the kind of interaction.

The dialog can be opened:

  • in a system context diagram via Edit from the context menu of the relationship
The dialog

Name Enter a name. This is optional. The name is not shown in the diagram. It is for information purposes only.

Stereotype When creating the relationship, the standard stereotype ContextActorRelationship is preselected. If you have extended the stereotype, you can change the preselected stereotype by using the dropdown list. The stereotype controls whether and which user-defined properties are displayed in the tab Further Properties.

Label Specify text to be shown as a label above the link.

Tab “Description”

This is a space for a detailed depiction of the interacting relationship.

Tab “Further Properties”

What can be seen on the tab depends on the assigned stereotype. If user-defined properties have been assigned to the stereotype then you can enter values for it here.

Example

The two actors car electronic and driver interact with the system context. The relationship arrow illustrates the nature of the interaction.
