Dialog “Select destination | Stereotype”
The dialog is offered in different situations and varies in appearance.
The dialog opens:
- if you drag multiple requirements to a package and select the Derive command
- if you drag a requirement onto a package and choose the Derive, Refine, Create Dependencies, Create Prerequisite command
- if you select Requirement/ Derive, Refine, Create Dependency, Create Prerequisite from the context menu of a requirement
- if you derive requirements from a package
- if you create new elements in a form via the green plus button
Dialog when multiple requirements are dragged onto one package
Set stereotype for […] requirement If you want the derived, refined, dependent requirements to have a different stereotype, select the checkbox and choose a stereotype from the drop-down menu. If you do not specify anything, the requirements adopt the stereotype of the requirement from which they were derived, refined, and so on.
Add requirement reference in package Check this option if a reference from the new (refined, derived, etc.) requirement should be created at the same time. You can change the package for the reference using the […] button.
Derive again requirements that have already been derived into the target package If requirements have already been derived among the requirements to be derived, you can deactivate the check box to avoid duplicate requirements. If the check box is selected, then all requirements will be derived. If there are already derived requirements among them, the requirements will be numbered consecutively.
Dialog via context menu of a requirement (version 5.2 and higher)
Select package Use the […] button to select a package. The derived requirements are stored there.
Set stereotype for […] requirement If you want the derived, refined, dependent requirements to have a different stereotype, select the checkbox and choose a stereotype from the drop-down menu. If you do not specify anything, the requirements adopt the stereotype of the requirement from which they were derived, refined, and so on.

Dialog about the plus button in a form (version 7.0 and higher)
Elements are placed in the specified package. By default, the package in which the element on which the command was executed is located is selected. Click the […] button if you want to specify a different package.
Dialog via context menu of a package (version 5.2 and higher)
Select package Use the […] button to select a package. The derived requirements are stored there.
Set stereotype for […] requirement If you want the derived, refined, dependent requirements to have a different stereotype, select the checkbox and choose a stereotype from the drop-down menu. If you do not specify anything, the requirements adopt the stereotype of the requirement from which they were derived, refined, and so on.
Variations (Version 6.0 and higher)
Click the Plus button to assign one or more variations to the derived requirements. If you do not see the plus button, click the small arrow on the right side of the dialog.
Until version 5.2
With version 5.2, you can use the Requirement / Derive Requirements command from the context menu of a package. As of version 6.0, you can find the Create/Derive Requirements from Package command in the context menu of a package.
Select destination Select a package using the […] button. The derived requests are stored there.
Set stereotype for derived requirements If you want the derived requirements to have a different stereotype, select the checkbox and choose a stereotype from the drop-down menu. If you do not specify anything, the derived requirements adopt the stereotype of the requirement from which they were derived.
