Create new state machine

If new artifacts have been defined in a project that are to go through a specific workflow, you must create a new state machine. This defines which states the artifact can assume and how transitions between states take place – including conditions and actions.

Create state machine

1. Open the Settings window via the vertical function bar and go to the State Machines package.
2. From the context menu, select the command Create Diagram → State Machine.

3. Name the state machine after the artifact.
4. Switch to the Stereotypes tab, and select the stereotype to which the machine should apply.

5. Click OK.
6. In the next step, create state transitions and define conditions and actions.

Open state machine

Double-click a created state machine to open it.
