Access to Data Types in Other Packages

You can manage datatypes from separate packages and access them by modelling relations between the individual packages. If there aren’t any relations, you can only access the data types if they are stored in the same package as the class or rather the attribute.

  1. Create a package diagram or open one that already exists.
  2. Drag and drop the relevant packages from the Product window into the diagram.
  3. In the diagram, select the Import relation option from the tool bar and click firstly on the package with the classes, then click on the package with the data types. This established a relationship between the two.

Now, if you create an attribute for a class, you can access data types that are stored in another package.
