View “Multi project plan”

You can use multi-project views to display and edit several projects that are running simultaneously within the company or an organizational unit.

In the context menu of an activity, you can find commands to create, edit, or delete other activities. You can define permissions for an activity and create different views. It is also possible to open the project directly from the view.

The view can be opened:

  • by double-clicking
  • via the context menu of the view, with the command Open

The View

When you open the view, you will see several project plans, displayed one below the other – depending on the configuration. The top activity of a project is given the project name and is identified by the project icon. All activities are listed below it.

In the upper area of the view you’ll find the following buttons:

Fit to time range displays an input window where you can enter a time period. The view shows the set period of time when you confirm the entry with the blue arrow button.
Start of selected activity jumps to the beginning of the selected activity.
Now jumps to the current time line (current date).
End of selected activity jumps to the end of the selected activity.
Reschedule all activity the project plan is recalculated after changes.
Export saves the project plan as pdf or xps
  Dark blue bars represent complex activities, i.e. activities that contain subordinate activities. Their duration is automatically adjusted to the start and end dates of the subordinate activities and milestones.
  This is a fixed composite activity whose subordinate activities fall within the composite activity.
  This is a composite activity whose subordinate activities fall outside the calculation.
  Light blue bars indicate activities that have not yet been assigned any requirements. You can change the duration (length of the bar) and position using the mouse.
  Progress is indicated by the filling of the bar. You can adjust the value with the mouse.
  The workload of all scheduled requirements is less than the fixed workload of the activity.
  The workload of all scheduled requirements is the same as the fixed workload of the activity.
  The workload of all scheduled requirements exceeds the fixed workload of the activity.
  Diamonds mark the milestones (gates) of the project. They can be repositioned in the schedule using the mouse.
  Control flows establish links between activities.

Project

Edit Activity Opens the edit dialog for the top activity of the respective project, in write mode.

Activity Creates a precedence diagram for the top activity of the project.

Create Enables you to create further activities.

Open Opens the project.

Earned Value Analysis, User Story Board, Kanban for activities, Burn Up Enables you to create these views.

Go to Opens the project and jumps to the package that is specified as backlog. The package (backlog) is selected. If you choose Definition, the activity opens in the Activities window on the right side of the project. The activity is selected.

Share Allows you to send the activity with a link, e-mail or hyperlink.

Edit Revision Allows you to create a revision. You can also view, compare, and revert the history of an activity.

Delete Activity Deletes the top activity of the project. The action cannot be undone.

Create a view

The view can be created within an organization through the context menu of a package with the command  Create other/ View. Under type, choose Multi project plan. Then define the columns to be displayed in the view. To do this, click the Plus button to display additional columns next to the name.
