Glossary

If a project involves several departments or teams, it is advisable to agree on a common language and how it is to be used. Using consistent terminology provides the basis for this. A glossary serves to make this consistent terminology available to everyone involved.

The window opens:

• when you click the Show Glossary icon in the vertical function bar of a project
• when you click the Show Glossary icon in the vertical function bar of an organization

The view

The glossary entries will be displayed in alphabetical order. Left-click on a concept and the definition will be shown on the right.

Click on an entry to display the description.

For glossary entries, you have the following options:

Create glossary entry

1. Open the glossary via the vertical function bar.
   The glossary opens in the center area.
2. Click the Plus button to create a new entry.

3. Overwrite New entry and enter a description below.

4. Save using the Save button.
   The entry is accepted on the left and sorted alphabetically.

Edit glossary entry

Existing glossary entries can be changed or expanded at any time.

1. Open the glossary.
2. On the left, select the entry you want to edit and click the Edit button.

The glossary entry is now editable.

3. Change the content and then click Save.

Delete glossary entry

• On the left, select the entry you want to edit and click the Remove button.
• Confirm the subsequent dialog by clicking Yes.

Export glossary

• Open the glossary.
• Click the Export button.

The glossary is saved as a sxmi file.

Import glossary

Entries that already exist in the glossary or have an identical name will not be imported. Glossary entries can only be imported into a project.

1. In the context-specific menu, click Project → Import → Import file into project.
2. Click Select file, select an sxmi file that contains a glossary, and click Import.
3. In the Differences between import file and project dialog, select the entries you want to import. You can also select the glossary if you want to import all entries.
4. Click Continue.

Generate glossary in a document

You can generate the project glossary in a document.
