Signal

A signal defines a message that consists of a set of attributes exchanged in an interaction between blocks.

Create signal

You can enter signals manually via a dialog or model them in a block diagram. You can recognize a signal in the system by this icon:

Stereotype

The stereotype of signal is <<Signal>>. You need the stereotype if you want to create document templates, queries, forms or search for a signal in the application.

In the Stereotypes window you will find the stereotype under DomainElement. Here you can create further sub stereotypes or user-defined properties. Properties do not have to be created separately for each sub stereotype, since the properties are inherited from the main stereotype.

Context menu commands

With the context menu commands, you can edit signals, share them, create revisions, and much more. The following shortcut menu commands are available for signal:

Edit

Opens the editing dialog in write mode.

Change State

Allows a signal to change state without opening the editing dialog.

Create

Show Diagrams

Opens a selection dialog where all diagrams containing the signal are displayed. If you select a diagram and click OK, the diagram opens.

Delete

Deletes the signal from the project. The action cannot be undone.
